Bingo Games
-
With bingo becoming very popular since its introduction to the online world, many different varieties have become available. Although there are two distinct versions of the game, the main aim of the game is to make up certain patterns on the bingo card. The first person to make this pattern with the numbers called is declared the winner.
The two types of bingo available to online players are American bingo and British bingo – also known as Australian bingo. American bingo utilises 75 different numbers where British/Australian bingo uses 90 numbers. The rules between these two games are the same.
All bingo cards contain 25 different spaces. 24 of these spaces are numbers with the centre space being a free space that is automatically crossed off. Up to 9,000 unique business cards can be used at a time.
Bingo games themselves are differentiated by the shapes that are required on the card to win. Some online bingo halls allow players to play with several bingo cards and therefore a lot of concentration is required. However, there are some online bingo halls which have automated bingo cards which cross off the numbers automatically according to which shape is required. The most common bingo games are listed below:
Cover all: This is one of the most popular games of bingo. This game requires players to fill up the entire bingo card. Although this game takes the longest, the energy is much higher in these games as these games always offer the biggest prizes.
Dotted picture frame: This bingo game requires players to fill every other space on the bingo card. This version requires more concentration as some numbers may be called that the player has on the card, but these numbers are not necessarily needed.
Six pack: This game requires players to fill up six numbers on the bingo card – two rows of three. This can be done both vertically and horizontally. Even though there is a free space on all bingo cards, some cards will win without having to use this space.
Nine pack: This game of bingo operates the same way as the six pack, but with nine numbers having to be filled.
Kite and tail: This game requires players to fill a diagonal line and a corner which runs through the diagonal to make the shape of a kite in order to win.
make what looks like a kite.Top and bottom: This requires players to complete the top and bottom rows of the bingo card.
As you can see, most of these names are quite self-explanatory. There is no reason that anyone cannot make up different bingo games. As long as everyone in the bingo hall is trying to make up the prescribed shape, the game remains fair. In fact, any shape can do when playing bingo. The object of the game is to keep the shapes simple enough so that everyone can follow, but interesting enough to keep people entertained. The best way to find out what games are available is to play online bingo. In general the more intricate shapes pay out bigger prizes.
